We started Gabana Snow because we wanted the magic of a realistic snow effect without the trade-offs that usually come with it. This page explains what our snow is actually made of, and why.

The problem with most artificial snow

Most artificial snow on the market falls into two categories: aerosol sprays, which rely on chemical propellants and are designed to be used once and thrown away, or plastic-based flocking and snow granules, made from synthetic polymers that behave like any other plastic waste once discarded.

What Gabana Snow is made from

Gabana Snow is made from a semolina-based extrudate — a plant-based material, not a synthetic plastic. Instead of petroleum-derived polymers, the base material comes from a grain-derived source, processed into the light, snow-like texture you see in the product.

Why that matters

Plant-based materials like ours behave fundamentally differently to plastic at the end of their life. We're a young, growing brand, and we want to be precise rather than vague about our environmental claims. We're currently in the process of finalizing independent third-party testing and certification specific to our product formulation, and we'll update this page with those details — including exact disposal guidance — as soon as that's complete. In the meantime, we'd rather tell you plainly what the material is than make claims we can't yet back up with our own certification.
